Constitution of India (1950), Article 226 — Petition for issuance of writ of
mandamus directing respondents to shift LPG godown of eighth respondent from the place in question — Held, no licence from Fire Service Department, obtained by eighth respondent — Inspection carried on by Divisional Fire Officer clearly shows that area in question, inaccessible to any fire and rescue service — By order of Court, mock exercise, conducted and it was found that accessibility to godown was difficult — In absence of approval by second respondent-fire service, eighth respondent’s continuance of LPG godown at disputed place, would be only at peril of safety of people in the residential area of the godown — Writ petition allowed.
